The Scribbled Rabbitfish is also known as the Two Barred Rabbitfish or the Barred Spinefoot. This is a beautiful fish because it is intricately patterned with many colors from blue, silver, green and yellow.
It has a yellow back and tail with blue/silver markings scribbled all over its body. On its face there is a black stripe that starts at the bottom of its mouth goes across its eye and ends at the top of the head. You will find a similar stripe right behind the gill. They are very peaceful fish unless they are in a tank with other Rabbitfish. You can put this fish in a peaceful tank or a tank with aggressive fish. The aggressive fish will leave the Scribbled Rabbitfish alone because it has venomous dorsal spines. They should be kept in a 70 gallon tank or larger with plenty of space to swim. Besides their beauty these fish are also great because they will eat hair algae, valonia and red turf algae in your tank. They are omnivores and will eat vegetables, algae, as well as meaty marine food like krill, shrimp, and squid. With caution you can add them to reef takes if you feed them well. They are known to nip at large polyp stony corals and soft corals.
