The Clown Triggerfish is among the most colorful triggers you will find. They are a highly sought after fish.
They have a dark brown body with large white spots on the bottom. There is a yellow patch below the dorsal fin that has brown spots. Its mouth is yellow and ringed with white. The tail is yellow with black spots. Among the most colorful, the Clown Triggerfish is also one of the most aggressive. It can be perfectly fine in your tank for months and years and then one day this fish can turn on everyone and everything in the tank. The Clown Trigger should be kept in a 135 gallon tank or larger with rocks and caves. They will rearrange your landscape and rocks. Like other Triggerfish they are not reef safe and will eat most invertebrates. They need a variety of meaty foods like squid, krill, clams, and hard shelled shrimp to help wear down their growing teeth.
