The vibrant red Flame Angelfish is one of the most popular Dwarf Angelfish for salt-water aquariums today. The multiple hews of red to orange giving way to the dark blue of the anal fins only seem even more striking with the black stripes on each side of this beautiful fish.

They should be kept in an 80 gallon tank or larger with plenty of live rock and places to hide. They are highly sensitive to copper so keep your levels no higher than 0.15ppm. Take caution when adding them to a reef tank because they will nip at corals, sessile invertebrates and clams.

Flame Angels can be very temperamental due to size and color so we recommend adding other fish to the aquarium before adding a Flame Angel. Normal feedings for Angelfish apply so half veggie diet (algae) and half meaty (mysis and brine Shrimp). Flames are very personable and will stay steady swimming and looking for your attention as you approach the tank regularly.
