Starting out your tank should be fun and if you are looking for a simple and easy Angel then this Half Black Angelfish is the pick. It has a deep black tail with a pearl body and orange markings throughout the body.

Very easygoing temperament when young it won’t mess with most fish however it will tear up reef and certain corals like brains and clams but you can keep this usually curbed by frequent feedings of mysis shrimp.

They will grow to about 4” so a tank around 70 gallons will be sufficient for the Half Black Angelfish. It will need plenty of caves to hid in because they are shy and like to stay hid. Eventually they will become less shy and should be able to blossom into a big part of your ecosystem. They will graze on algae growth on your live rock and should also be fed meaty foods.
