Basslets are attractive small fish, that are easy to take care of and will bring a bright pop to your tank. They are reef compatible and will get along with most tank mate. They can become aggressive towards members of their own species so only one Basslet in a tank at a time. They should be kept in a 30 gallon tank or larger with plenty of places to hide and with less aggressive or predatory species who might eat them.
They are usually around 2” and they tend to hide and swim fast but love showing off their brilliant hues. They are carnivores and will go nuts for any meaty foods like brine or mysis shrimp, krill, and crustaceans. They are active fish and should be fed at least twice a day.
If you have a small nano reef system then this is your go to fish.
