Clownfish or Anemonefish are super common tank additions thanks to the very popular Pixar film Finding Nemo. When you think about Clownfish you might think they only look like Nemo but there are very different colorations of the Clownfish, ranging from black, white, orange and in all different hues. The females tend to be bigger than the males but keep the same coloration. From the Great Barrier Reef and Red Sea they love warm water and love their anemones. They use the anemone as a place for shelter, food and provide it with the care it needs, however it does not need an anemone to survive. They are reef compatible but beware they can become territorial and only keep a mated pair in a tank together. Clownfish are omnivores and will eat meaty or vegetarian food. They will eat plankton, fish flake, fish pellet, brine shrimp, algae and pretty much any type of food you add to the tank.
