The Calico Box Crab is a one of the larger crabs and is brightly colored with red spots on a gray to yellow body.
Their coloring allows them to camouflage in the sand and hide. They are very aggressive crabs and are rarely seen in fish tanks because of their size. They feed on detritus in your tank and serve as a garbage disposal. They are not reef safe and should be kept in a large tank with plenty of places for them to hide when molting. They will hunt at night for fish, worms, clams and small invertebrates.
You can feed them any type of meaty food.
