The massive large mouthed fish known as the Grouper is a sight to behold. Ranging all around the world from Australia to Portugal to the Persian Gulf, the grouper is everywhere. It’s huge mouth sucks in prey and sand for food. In the wild they can grow several feet and are active predators and love to ambush prey. Adding them to a tank can be an issue as they are aggressive and grow rapidly. Not a fan of reefs or most coral, it prefers rocks, sand, mud and anything it can use to hunt and not be bothered.
If you are planning on getting one of these large fish make sure you have a very large tank to support them as they will grow big in a very short amount of time and will eat as much as they can.
