The Jellyfish are a large group of free-swimming marine animals normally having a gelatinous umbrella-shaped bell with dangling tentacles. They are found world wide and even in some fresh water. They drift and swim based on light and current. They are the longest existing creatures in the ocean at 500 million years and counting.
Their tentacles usually carry some sort of stinging agent that allows it to catch prey and feed. Depending on the jellyfish will depend on how strong the sting is if at all. Some can be incredibly painful an even fatal if not treated immediately. Jellyfish aren’t really fish and aren’t aggressive towards most other things. Some “jellies” tend to group together and are called a bloom or a swarm.
A special tank is needed for home keeping as is a special food needed for them specific.
