Lobsters are a unique addition to your home aquarium. They should be kept in a large tank with plenty of caves to hide in and a deep sand bed to bury in. They are aggressive and don’t do well with smaller fish and will likely eat anything it can catch. They are nocturnal and spend most of the day hiding in the rock or buried in the sand. At night they come out to hunt for food.
They go through a molting process where they shed their shell and regrow a new one. During this process they are vulnerable until their new shell hardens so they will need a place to hide.
High levels of copper and nitrate can harm the Lobster but adding iodine and calcium will help during the molting process. They should be offered meaty marine food like shrimp, mussels, and clams.
