The Pipefish looks like a snake in your tank. They have a very slender thin body. They are great fish to have because they are peaceful and reef compatible but we would recommend only expert aquarists buy them because they are harder to maintain. Larger aggressive fish will likely eat them, invertebrates can harm them and corals and anemone can sting them or eat them. You can find them hiding among the rocks and sometimes they will swim upside down and sleep upside down under rocks or the magnet in your tank. They are hard to maintain because they don’t always get the right food and are mostly under fed. They prefer to eat copepods growing on your live rock and in your sand but they will also eat rotifers, live brine shrimp and some might eventually eat frozen food like Mysis shrimp, plankton, and krill.
