The Dogface Puffer is also known as the Arothron Dogface Puffer, Yellow Belly Dogface Puffer or the Blackspotted Puffer.
They resemble a dog in an appearance, which is where they get their name. Its appearance depends on what stage of life it is in. It can be in the gray stage, which means it will be gray with black marking around the mouth eyes and dorsal fin and yellow on the pectoral fins. Another stage would be the half-yellow phase, which means they will have a yellow belly and black marking around the mouth and eyes. Sometimes black spots can appear on the body. They should be kept in a fish only tank that is 100 gallons or more with plenty of place to hide and swim. They can be kept with other less aggressive puffer fish. Sometimes they are hard to feed depending on your tank quality and set up. Once they do start eating you can feed them shrimp, crab, clams squid and other meaty fish food.
