The Blue Linckia Sea Star is also known as the Comet Sea Star, Blue Sea Star, or Blue Starfish is an incredibly bright starfish beaming with a deep blue coloration and might be seen with red or purple spots. Keep them in an established tank that has many places to hide, sandy or rocky substrate and is well lit. Starfish are very picky when it comes to water parameters and will need to be drip line acclimated to your tank. Sudden changing in oxygen, salinity, and ph can greatly affect the starfish. High levels of nitrate and copper in your tank can be harmful to the Starfish but you can add other trace elements to keep them happy. You will see the Blue Linkia Starfish clinging to your glass, rockwork and sometimes hiding in your rock. They will catch and eat microbes floating in your tank but their diet should be supplemented with small pieces of meat or tablets that can be placed under them so other fish wont eat it before they get to it.
