The Niger Trigger (pronounce nie-jur) can also be known as the Redtooth Triggerfish.
You will notice that this fish may fluctuate in color from day to day. One day it may be blue the next more green and sometimes a shade of purple. The fins are usually lined with a lighter blue. They are one of the more peaceful triggerfish and are known to be semi aggressive. Some people claim that they wont pick at your corals but will nip at any clams or sponges in your tank. They will also eat any crustaceans or invertebrates in your tank. They can also be kept with many other fish just not smaller reef fish. The Niger Trigger should be kept in an 80 gallon tank or larger with rocks and caves. They will rearrange your landscape and rocks in your tank. They need a variety of meaty foods like shrimp, squid, krill, clams, snails and small fish. They are carnivorous. Should be fed 2-3 times a day.
