The Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse is also known as the Red Fin Flasher Wrasse and they can be distinguished between male, female and juvenile by their color.
The juvenile will be orange with blue vertical stripes. The adult male will become yellow with blue horizontal stripes and a red dorsal fin with blue and yellow accents. The female is similar looking to the male just not as bright and bold and their fins are not as large.
The Carpenter ‘s Flasher Wrasse should be kept in a 55-gallon or larger tank with a tight lid since these wrasses are known to jump out of tanks. They are very popular reef safe wrasses and should be kept with peaceful fish. You can keep multiple females in a tank with one male but two males should not be kept in the same tank. When feeding they like Mysis shrimp, brine shrimp and other meaty food along with marine flake and pellet.
