The Blue Tang is also known as the Blue Surgeonfish, Hippo Tang, Palette Surgeonfish, and more commonly known as Dory from Finding Nemo.
This tang has a deep blue body with a black marking on the body and a bright yellow tail. As ironic as it may sound these fish love to swim. They should be kept in a 75 gallon tank or larger with plenty of space. Although they love open space they also need a place to hide in your rocks. They are reef compatible and very peaceful with most fish except other tangs. If you plan to have multiple Blue Tangs in your tank be sure to introduce them at the same time and give them lots of space. The Blue Tang is more susceptible to fin erosion, ich, lateral line disease and other skin parasites. They also have a razor sharp spine on their side near the base of their tails. The spines can cause very painful wounds. They are constantly eating because they have an extremely long digestive tract. They will need a tank with algae so they can constantly graze for the food. They will also eat frozen food suited for herbivore and omnivores.
