The Convict Tang is also known as the Convict Surgeonfish.
They have a silver body with six black vertical lines. Their color will become more vibrant and bright with the right lighting in your tank. The Convict Tang is less aggressive than many other tangs and in a large enough tank you can have more than one Convict Tang if they are added at the same time. They should not be kept with more aggressive Tangs because those Tangs will harass them. They can be kept in a reef or fish only 100 gallon tank or larger with plenty of space to swim. They will graze your tank for any unwanted hair algae. The Convict Tang will eat the meaty food you feed your other fish in the tank but to keep them healthy offer them plenty or marine seaweed and algae.
