The Leopard Wrasse is also known as the Black Spotted Wrasse.
The male and female both have a different appearance. The male will be orange to red with greenish brown spots. The females have a white body with brown or black spots all over its body. The females are also easier to spot because they have yellow fins.
These wrasses should be added to an established aquarium that is 50 gallons or more with live sand and rock. They are peaceful fish, reef compatible and will do better if they are with other Leopard Wrasse fish. When they feel threatened they will perform a dance that will confuse the predator and allow it to escape into the rock or the sand bed. They will eat small invertebrates that grow on the live rock. Their diet also consists of Mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, other meaty food, pellet and flake food. They are difficult fish to keep and should be kept by advanced aquarists only.
