The Naso Tang is also known as the Orange-Spine Unicornfish or Lipstick Tang.
As these fish mature their colors darken. As a juvenile they are dark gray with a yellow stripe on the dorsal and anal fin. As they mature they take on a darker bluish gray color and their tail takes on a u-shape with two yellow patches appearing near the tail. A very thin black mask forms between their eyes and mouth and their lips turn yellow. They are usually not aggressive toward other fish in the tank but will fight with other Tangs. The Naso Tang prefers to school with other Naso Tangs as juveniles but as adults they prefer to be alone. They are reef compatible and should be kept in a 135 gallon tank or larger with plenty of space to swim. They prefer large tanks are known to grow more quickly then many other fish. They will eat the meaty food you feed other fish in your tank but they are herbivores and will mainly eat seaweed and algae. They should be fed algae or seaweed at least 3 times a week.
