The Strawberry Grouper is also known as the Calico Grouper, Kitty Mitchell or Speckled Hind. It has a yellow body with is a brown head and white spots. These large fish are slightly less aggressive than the normal grouper but should still be kept in a tank with large fish. It has a toxin on its body that can affect fish in the tank so make sure to have a large tank that is 150 gallons or larger with a good filtration system. They will eat small fish and crustaceans and should not be kept in a reef tank. Their diet should consist of shrimp, scallops, clams, squid and other meaty foods.
