Anemones are considered the flowers of the aquarium world. They are sessile and have a specialized foot used to attach themselves to rocks or burry in the sandy substrate. They are predatory and aggressive especially towards corals and other anemones that get in their way. They can sting other anemones and corals and should be given plenty space in your tank.
Anemones are hard to care for and should only be kept by advanced aquarists. When they are attached to a rock be sure to leave them on that rock because if you try and remove them you can harm them, which could cause them to die. Anemones usually host clown fish and form a symbiotic relationship with them by proving them shelter and in turn the fish provides food for the anemone.
Always recommended to wear gloves when handling anemones because they can sting you and their sting can cause your fingers to be numb.
You will need to add iodine as well as other trace elements to your water to keep them healthy. They mainly get their nutrition through photosynthesis but once acclimated to the tank they will feed on Mysis shrimp, zooplankton, phytoplankton, worms, shrimp and other meaty marine food.
