Butterfly Fish look as close to Angelfish as you can possibly have. Biggest difference would be the lack of preopercle spines over the gills. There are over 120 different species so finding the perfect one for you gives you plenty of choices. The average length of the Butterfly Fish can range from 4.5” to 9” so a larger tank of at least 120 gallons or more is recommended.
This species needs vary widely due to the eating habits. Some need to eat coral polyps as a main source of food but will sometimes eat things like mysis or brine shrimp depending on the mood but again you want to keep some small polyped corals in the area.
Beautiful big and vibrant they aren’t super aggressive and love to hide if stressed or startled. Give them tons of rock and let them be the stars of your tank!
