Triggerfish are a very hardy sought after fish. There are about 40 species in this family. Most of them are very colorful and bright with lines or spots on their bodies. They are aggressive and have teeth! Almost all of them are not reef or crustacean compatible. They prefer to be in tanks that have plenty of rocks and caves. Triggerfish will wedge themselves into a rock and sleep. At this time it defends it self by raising its hard spine dorsal fins. They love food and will “grunt” for the food until you feed them. You can train most of them to eat it right out of your hand but be sure not to get to close cause they will bite your fingers. They feed on snails, shrimps, krill, clams and other meaty foods
